In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda from baseboards and in corners, the Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction was less powerful than other robots, but it was still very quiet and swift in its movements. It didn't mop however, and its removable cleaning pads were a bit difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dried-on dirt.
Its app isn't equipped with advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however its voice controls aren't particularly intuitive or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it comes back to the charging station after a run. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow an earlier route however the RX3 is a mess until it quits.
Another issue we had was with its intelligent features, particularly the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. While it did a good job of avoiding our shoes and furniture legs however, it was easily hung up by socks and cables, and was unable to handle the tassels that adorn rug. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth looking into as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
